Overview

OR2X2 CL+ is a common soft white winter wheat developed by Oregon State University (OSU). OR2X2 CL+ was selected based on it's yield potential, disease resistance and adaptation to growing conditions in the intermediate to high rainfall wheat production areas of Oregon and Washington. Area of adaptation and primary use of the variety: OR2X2 CL+ is adapted to the high rainfall/irrigated production areas in the Pacific Northwest. OR2X2 CL+  carries two genes conferring resistance to Beyond herbicide, and is intended for use in wheat producing areas that have issues with jointed goatgrass and downy brome. Variants and Frequency: Foundation class: 3 red seed/pound (approximately 3/10,000) Registered class: 6 red seed/pound (approximately 6/10,000) Certified class: 9 red seed/pound (approximately 9/10,000) Resistance to diseases and pests:  OR2X2 CL+ has shown good resistance to stripe rust over multiple years of field testing. In both 2016 and 2017 it was found to be resistant to the prevalent races of stripe rust in both eastern and western Washington. OR2X2 CL+ has also shown excellent resistance to strawbreaker foot rot in field evaluations. OR2X2 CL+ is susceptible to Fusarium crown rot and Septoria leaf blotch, as well as soilborne wheat mosaic virus. It shows a low level of tolerance to Cephalosporium stripe.
